motor swap

i have a 1988 mercruiser 3.0 with cracked block,and have a strong early 70s omc 3.0. will i have any problems with things matching up? [out drive,accs brackets,ecc?????

Howdy,


AFAIK, the 3.0L blocks are unchanged for many years. Put them side by side and compare.

I suggest you do not put the old manifold and riser back on (use new ones.....)

The change to a one piece rear main seal was around '88. It had a different flywheel

Just make doubly sure you paint it Phantom Black, otherwise it won't run right.
