motor still not turning at all getting frustrated

so i got a new starter thinking it was the starter problem and with the new one on and all i hear is a load roar like the turning of the starter like its not engaging the flywheel i am at a loss someone please help...

any teeth left on the flywheel? Just what caused you to replace the starter?

I had the same problem and it was the battery. Checked out fine just sitting there(12v) but under load it went to 4! Just 2cts. BK

I haven't taken the starter off yet. I replaced it because i thought it wasnt engaging the fly wheel. I am working on a mercruiser 3.7l and i just bought this battery no more than three weeks ago
