I checked all the connections at the amphenol connector, the back of the key switch in the control, the deutch connectors at the control and from the control cable inside the motor. Also checked all the connections at the terminal block and re-spliced the yellow wire mentioned above (soldered it).

Everything seems OK, no loose connections, wires all in good shape. As mentioned, everything is brand new and installed less than a year ago - control, control cable, system check/tach. Leads me to suspect something inside the motor. I didn't really expect any different result after not finding anything, but attempted starting again and it didn't start.

Needed a stator.

I bought the amphenol jumper and tested for spark, not connecting the black/yellow wire. There was a spark...what's next?

Needed a stator.

Are you sure????

You mentioned that you got spark back when the black-yellow wire was taken out of the circuit. That is not a stator problem, but a short or a low resistance ground path somewhere in the black-yellow wire or between the M terminals on the keyswitch.

Subsequent testing revealed no spark in any situation.
