motor loses power and will not turn over

I was driving across the lake and my yamaha 225 vmax 3.l lost power. I shut the motor off and checked the oil level wich was low so i added oil and went to start the motor back up and it will not turn over.
What do i do to free the motor?

I have a 1999 Yamaha 225 vmax 3.1L that was running fine until the motor lost power. I shut the motor off and checked the oil level ( which was low ) i filled the oil reserve tank back up and tried to start the motor and the motor will not turn over what has happened.

Chances are that the motor seized up due to lack of lubrication. Probably a very, very expensive fix !!

remove the plugs, remove the flywheel cover.
try to turn the flywheel by hand.
if it wont move remove the lower unit and try again.
if your alarm system worked you get a low engine oil alarm about 15 min before the oil pump is actually dry.
a failed gearcase will give the same symptoms you posted.
