Motor guide variable speed prob

I have a MotorGuide digital tour variable speed 70lb thrust. My problem is when in momentary in position it runs wide open with potentiometer at lowest setting. If switch is n high bypass it will not work until micro switch is pushed. When in constant on position it runs wide open regardless of potentiometer position. Also micro switch must b engaged! Just replaced potentiometer and didn't fix problem. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
