motor floping side to side

I have installed a new steering cable on my bass boat restore and now when I tow the boat the motor flops side to side, the cable I installed is a rack and pinion. is there any way to tighten up the motor?

Yep... Buy a NFB helm... You'll LOVE it on the water too.

something not right in your rack helm unit

motor or cable should not move unless rack is moving

I use a short strap on my steering wheel to keep it on Port lock.

Did the strap thing Sunday I guess it will work just thought there might be someway to tighten up the motor. thanks for the help.

Might be difficult to see, but does the steering wheel also move when the motor "flops"
