i have a mercury 700 , it runs great out off water i can rev it up an no skipping but when i put it in water an start to take off the motor acts like its bogging down ,im wondering if anybody can help
Most outboards will perform well out of water due to no back pressure/resistance.Start by checking fuel system,hoses etc.
Service carbs if not been done.Check spark.Check compression.
