I have a 1986 Bayliner 2150 with a 5.7 and a volvo penta drive, yesterday when I was on the lake the boat was running great and all of a sudden it was cut out for a few secs then go again then cut out and go etc every 20-30 seconds. First it was only doing this under full throttle but after about 10 mins its started to do this at any speed when the boats on plane. It wasnt over heating and I have good oil pressure so I dont think its the motor, I would assume its either a fuel problem or ignition problem. Any ideas? I also noticed that it seemed like it would backfire or blow back threw the carb every once in a while.
