motor automatically going up

hello all. im new to all this. my dad has the boat, not sure year of motor. problem is the motor trims all the way up automatically. had to remove cover and unplug wires. this happens periodically. not sure if the switch is sticking or something else. replaced all silanoids, still doing it. any ideas anyone. thanks.

Welcome to iboats!

If you've replaced the tilt & trim relays (not solenoids), then you've either got a bad switch or chafed wires that are closing the "up" circuit somewhere.

probably switch or shorting wires at the switch. could be a bad relay but relays are designed to go dead on failure.

The only other thing to mention that has not already been said look for moisture around your relays and wiring. Water will conducted electricity and cause weird intermittent problems.
