Where does the round bar on the jack plate need to be? Which hole? What angle should the motor be on a bass boat?

This is not the specific answer you are asking, but it will start the conversation on your topic. On any outboard engine with trim, the thrust rod between the two transom brackets needs to be in the forward holes. That way the trim will control the engine over the greatest movement range possible. Not sure about the rod on the jack plate.
