More Winterixing

1998 175 evinrude w/ carbs-------some say to add a stabilizer when you do a winterizing run and some say to forget the stabilizer and just drain the carbs----what say you ?

By the way, I did a FAQ search using "winterizing" and "match any word"---got a "no match"---what am I doing wrong ?

Here is the thread you want, in the actual FAQ section. I run Stabil in the fuel for a few minutes, then fog the motor, removing the plugs and adding a little in the cylinders. Spray the block down with WD 40, change the lower unit oil, open a pack of mothballs to keep the critters away, ensure the water line is drained by leaving the motor tilted down, store the battery indoors on a wooden shelf, and you should be good to go.
