1990 40hp.
I have my parts on order (yes from Iboats .com).
The parts from the doner engine are going to work OK as well.

I have two questions:
What is the torque spec. for the maine bearimg caps? Those are the large bolts which attach the crank case.

The 2nd question is what sealent do use used the seal the crank case. The engine had some sort of thin yellow stuff.

Thanks for the help.
The only part that I did not find on this site is the key for flywheel. I will try a local shop in Passidena.

Crankcase sealer is OMC Gel Seal it's an anaerobic sealer that will harden in the absence of air. There is a Primer that OMC says to use with it in a spray can. It smells like acetone. (not sure if the primer is needed but I use it to be safe)

Thanks, that's one out of two. What about the torque spec.
The key is 5/32" wide not 1/8" FYI.
