This belongs to my son, Montgomery Ward GG18736D it smokes and backfires after it gets warm and smokes like a on of a gun, when warm. But only after it gets warm.
Backfires, I suggested checking the coils for cracks. Ask about peeing, said it is great.

Smoking and back firing when warm is the classic signs of ignition coil(s) breaking down. Use a spark tester to confirm diagnosis.
