modify v6 starter for v4

Hi all<br />I have a u/s starter on a 84 evinrude 90hp<br />and i have been given a starter to suit a v6 150hp, its slightly longer and has a 10 tooth sprocket instead of a 11 on the previous , also the mounting tabs are slightly different , which i can change easily .Is the sprocket interchangeable ???

don't know, are the shafts the same size? when you change the sproket will it engage properly? is the throw the same length?
