Model Year Guide for Tohatsu & Nissan

Hello,

Is there a nice online source to determine Tohatsu & Nissan model years?

I have the below motors I need to identify:

Tohatsu M2.5A Serial 77207
Tohatsu M3.5A Serial 65291

Tohatsu Guru's very good website has a menu of the parts catalogs, which includes the model years. See http://www.internetoutboards.com/PartsCatalogMenu.htm

Both of your motors are from the mid-1990's. We service a lot of these in our shop (freshwater small-sailboat auxiliaries), and they are almost indestructible, as long as they get proper maintenance.

This site does not supply the exact year. Is there a site that uses serial number and model like Mercury to tell exact year?

I think that if it was after 95 you can find the year but before 95 you can get an estimated year.

There is no site that provides model years off of serial numbers as Tohatsu/Nissan has never thought it necessary to create any kind of chart. You can contact them directly at info@tohatsu.com with the serial and model number and they might be able to identify the year for you....Model years are not used to determine what part is used on one of their engines so the year has never been important.
