Nice to at least be to the point where I'm putting things together instead of ripping them apart :) Have 1 3/4" of plywood laminated together sitting in the garage curing.. Geez what a mess when the layers were screwed together! I'll be interested to see if it warps when it cures.

Easiest to do the O/D cutout before or after it's installed into the boat? Thanks!

-Roger

Did you Alternate the orientations of the plywood..???
If you Did, It Won't Warp.......

Cut out the hole After installation....
Use the Hole in the boat as a template........

"Did you Alternate the orientations of the plywood..???"

Yes sir, sure did. epoxied the daylights out of the layers, with epoxy resin and 1 1/2oz epoxy mat between each one. Stainless screws in each layer on a 6" grid. Three pieces of ply, one 3/4" and two 1/2", all oriented 90 degrees to each other.

Factory was the same dimension ply, no resin or mat, stapled together. Bilgeliner, what can I say?

-Roger

Re: Mmmm, Fresh transom...

I Just did mine, but I cut the hole first
so that I can completly encapsulate the transom, I routed out the mounting hole and fill them with peanut butter, before installing on the boat, so I know that NO WATER is going to penetrate that transom
