The correct ratio is 50:1. There should be a mixing chart on the container of the oil you're using, which should be rated TCW3. Every container I've ever bought has a chart showing how much to mix with different amounts of gas.
16 oz for 6 gallons is the easiest for me to remember. I bought a plastic 6-gallon gas can to mix my oil in. I transfer it to my boat tank, as needed.
