Minor gelcoat repairs....

I was pressure washing the hull and must have got too close and blasted a piece of gelcoat off the boat. It is the size of about a nickel and is at place that stays underwater. What could or should I use to repair it? Any recommendations? Also, I noticed the transom has a lot of little cracks in it. I had a local company power wash the bottom a few weeks ago (did a crappy job). I am trying to do it right. Looks like they may have caused these cracks from using a high powered gun and getting too close. I don't remember these spider cracks being there before. Anyway to fix them?

Use marine tex for the one that you made and if you can get your hand on some gelcoat paint, paint the spider cracks on your transom. It might not look like a professional job but would be better than nothing.

The pressure washing only made it so you could see the cracks, it didn't create them. These small cracks can be hard to repair if there are a lot of them, only because each one needs to be ground out and filled with glass and then repainted. If the transom if still flexing for any reason, they will return soon. Check and see if the wood in the transom is rotten, this may be the cause of the flex and cracking.

The small chunck of gel coat that was blown off was covering a small void (air bubble) under the gel coat, you happened to hit it just right and blow it off.

There are quite a few cracks. I never noticed them before. I have a Sea Ray SR225 1983. Not sure if there is wood in the transom.

What if I filled these cracks with a clear epoxy?
