Can anyone tell me how to take the mounting bracket off a Minn Kota transom mount Endura 45? It doesn't seem to be bolted on and I'm afraid I might have to take the top control unit off or the prop motor. If that is the case, how is it done and what do I need to watch out for? Thanks

Welcome to iboats:cool:

You have to remove the control head. Make sure you know where each wire goes because you will have to disconnect them. Some digital pix would help you keep track of them.

Thanks Bob, I was afraid of that. Digital pics are a good idea.
Let me ask you this: What broke on the motor were the plastic wings on the spring loaded T-bar that locks the motor in place (a bad launching experience). Do you know if that piece is removable without pulling the bracket off? It looks like there's a small pin through the shaft but not sure how to remove and replace without messing it up.

BTW, iBoats is a great site and a wealth of info. Glad I signed up.

In the parts kit picture it looks like there is a pin that is knurled on one end that could be driven out without having to remove the mount.

Thanks Keith,
I check the diagram and took out both the mount pin and the smaller T-bar pin. I replace the broken T-bar with one from an older Endura 34. Piece of cake. Whole job took about 15 minutes.

Thanks (everyone)for the help.

Now to tackle some popped rivets on my '74 Starcraft....
