Can anyone tell me the absolute minimum transom thickness tolerated in a 2000 and new alpha one gen 2 sterndrive setup?
I know the spec is 2 to 2.25 inches but is there any small liberty I can take. 1/8th or just under. Anyone have my experience with this?
Transom is in very good health and is 90 percent glass but is around 1.92 inches after some clean up and paint.
Doesn't appear to touch, engine to transom assembly.
I'll check if yoke engagement is 100.
I've found if I'm going to shim it'll move the engine just enough to make me do some serious glass work at the front mount .
Thank you for your time and consideration

Ayuh,..... It might be alright at 1.92",.....
But,.....I'd cut, 'n drill an 1/8" plate to mount under the inner transom plate,.....

The inner, 'n outer surfaces beenin' dead parallel is extremely important, for alignment, 'n sealin' the water out,....
