Milky oil in upper leg leg by bellows

I drained my oil out of my leg and noticed a small amount of milky oil towards the end. I then pulled the leg to to change the water pump and more milky gear oil poured out. As I continued to pull the rest off a flood of milky oil cane out. What’s the best way to find the leak? Seem like it is up by the bellows.

:welcome: . . . as I see this is your first post.

Sorry to hear about your leg. . . . what brand/model outdrive are you talking about?

Sounds like a pressure test is in order.

Mercruiser? If so, the yoke seal has failed.

Sometimes the yoke seal carves a groove in the yoke. If I remember correctly, I needed to replace the yoke and seal.

A good time to replace the U joints also.

I forgot to mention that I noticed my lower exhaust bellow let go from the leg When I pulled the boat out of the water. Not sure if that could have been a cause of this

Looks like you have oil leaking out of the yoke seal as Chris said as well as water getting in probably through the u-joint bellows.

Yeah, replace all of the bellows, gimble bearing, trim senders, and lower shift cable. Then the only reason to go back in there is for annual maintainance.
