Hello, I'm new to this forum.
First a little history. I bought a 1975 MFG Gypsy 17"4" 140 io in 1985 (NEW outdrive installed then). Since then I've had the upholstery redone, I put new floor in it & added storage between the seats in front of the gas tank, new carpeting in it, redid the trailer & many other things that I will add in the future, maybe with some pictures of the boat. It has been stored (inside heated) since 1996. This year I decided to get it running to sell it or play with it. Of course I had to pull the gas tank to clean it & other things.
I live in Michigan.
I took it out a few weeks ago to a small inland lake & it ran flawlessly other than I had to bump up the idle. It runs about 35 MPH with a 21 degree stainless.
On 07-03-2010 I took it out to Lake St Clair. It ran great other than
getting me a little beat up on some of the bigger waves (Trihull) mostly it wasn't bad (5-10 mph winds).
I have a few questions:
The lower molding in the walkthru where it was stapled on is coming off.Is there replacement molding for it that I don't have to split the boat apart (no clearance).I tried glue. Also since I've owned it getting up the transom ladder is very had since it's on a backward angle on it. The ladders I've seen for sale don't look like they will fit (backward angle of transom & angle/radius of deck.)
Any answers or comments welcome.

MFG75,
welcome aboard!!
as for the trim around the walk through, have you looked at the door trim at an auto parts store?
the kind that just slips on to keep the door edge from getting chiped.

here is a picture of my ladder ,when it is unfolded it is straight down.......

Well it took a while but here are a few of my "membership dues".
Took her out about 7 times this year. I had to do a few other things to her.
Had to change starter & alt. Pictures are on Lake St. Clair Michigan.
Found a few shallow spots in the lake with rocks. Yes had to redo prop.
For having 25 years on impeller she still ran cool. Max 140 degrees, but I am still going to change over the winter. Bellows looks great. I'm also going to rework ladder over winter. Sorry it took so long to repost but I was out fishing.
