Ok guys, here's a modifaction that isn't realy hard to do, I got so tired of stowing life jackets and towels ect. only to have all the stuff back my lap after hitting little rough water.

also in the second photo is where I have a 6" wide weak spot that runs the length of the deck it's beginning to crack, the rest of the deck is solid, it's just that 6" wide strip that has a little give to it when stepped on.

Nice clean look a70e!! What did you use for material ? Do you feel a loss of leg room ? I like the Idea. peter

No loss of leg room at all and I can pack a whole lotta stuff up there and close the door, the door opening I made just large enough that I gan get my shoulders through and lay down to access my fuse panel and instruments. The fibergalss panel I cut an fitted started out as a scrap 4x8 cell sheet panel left over from a fiberglass sided bldg, but a piece of 1/2" plywood epoxie coated would fit the bill nicely too, the entire panel is fibergalssed to the deck hull and lower dash around the entire perimeter and it's watertight with the exception of the hatch opening.
