Just wondering if anyone can help out. I just bought a Mercury 9.8HP. Serial # is 9206553. Trying to figure out the year. Thanks.

Oops.... Took a second look. # is 5206553. I think it is a 1979 model. Is this right? Also, how do I determine model # to order parts? Thanks.

Ok. Thanks. I am needing the gasket that goes around the bottom edge of the hood. Are those universal or do they vary by model #? Thanks.
