Mercury Trim Sender unit location

I am adding a trim guage to my 2001 75hp merc. I need location and were to look for the sender unit on the engine. If possible the color code of the wire on the sender up-dwn-gnd.

Look around the transom bracket on the port side. Sometimes hard to see lever.

If there is a sender there, it will have a brown wire with a white stripe and a black ground wire.

That motor does not come with a trim sender as standard equipment. You need to purchase a sender. The Mercury p/n is 821400A2

No problem rick - I would probably make the same mistake with OMC - I deal mostly with Mercs
