Mercury throttle hook up

I am trying to connect some throttle controls to a 150 HP mercury boat motor I was told the controls came with the motor but I cannot see how to connect them or even which one goes to which place , can anyone please tell me how to place the controls into the boat motor to hook them up

What year is the Engine, as they did make some variations to how the Trunnion was anchored/secured to the Engine as the years went by?

Not sure what would venture to say a 1972 two a 1976

Is it an inline 6(73 - 77) or a V6(78 or newer)?

A Serial number would help in that regard

Looks like an inline 6 engine. The throttle cable hooks to a bolt on the large throttle arm, directly above the shift cable. Both cables share the same clamp for the barrell fitting. Set the throttle barrell to push the throttle closed, control in neutral, with a bit of preload.

It is an in-line six I will look for the model number tonight when I get home from work and post it with anybody happen to have pictures that shows how To position the barrel adjusters since they get clamped together

The barrell clamps have a tab and a swinging keeper. You swing the keeper all the way toward the block, insert the tab into the barrell clamp, and swing the keeper away from the block until it snaps closed.

Here is the pictures I have , what would really help is if someone had a picture that show their connected that would help me out tremendously or at least a drawing of it

In the fourth picture you can see the barrell clamp. The shift cable lies in the tray, flat, an connects to the shift slider, with the aluminum peanut-shaped clamp and nut. The throttle cable is directly on top, connected to the large throttle arm bolt with a nut. The two cable barrells fit into the two hole liner in the clamp, one on top of the other.

After you set the cables in place, grab the two pointy projections on the top (one is broken off) and swing it up and toward the block. Insert the end of the tab into the clamp base, and grab the projections and swing it toward the lower cowl edge, and it will snap into place. The tab will push the cable barrells into the two hole liner of the clamp.

Practice it a time or two, and then adjust the cables and lock 'em in.
