I want to install a couple of Smart Craft gauges on my Trophy 2002. I have a 2002 150 Mercury Saltwater EFI engine. The gauges are a Smart Craft tach, p/n 79-859067 and a Smart Craft speedometer, p/n 79-859020. Presently everything's hooked up to the stock Bayliner gauges. What do I need?

I would try to get a set of installation instructions from Mercury, there have been a few service bulletins and upgrade on these gauges. You will also need the paddle wheel for the speedometer. Not sure about the control harness. The set I installed had a control harness with connectors for Smart gauges and regular gauges.

This is not something I would encourage you to undertake yourself.Return voltage is critical with these units ,and a misplaced ground or fuel sender lead ,can cause an ECM failure. You WILL need the proper instructions too install these guages.

Don't think it will work!! Only Optimax and most 4-strokes, not EFI motors.
