Mercury Power Trim & Tilt

This may have been covered in previous threads but my search has not answered my question.

Should I expect the Mercury Power Trim & Tilt to keep my 25 hp 2 cycle engine out of the water?

If it is all the way up then the tilt trim should keep the motor in the up postion. If not then you may have a leak from the cylinders back to the pump. Check for leaks or low fluid in the pump.
