1986 Merc 90hp 6 cylinder adi ignition, carb model. Ran like a champ last weekend now no spark on 4 cylinders (only 1 and 5 good, haven't tested coils yet).

When troubleshooting the system, I have a rectifier with shorted diodes, and a stator with a slightly high reading on the red/white to blue/white lead test (upper switchbox, odd cyls). The stator should be between 5400–6200 ohms and I have 6850 ohms. Would that stator reading worry anyone? It's over 20 years old...

Electrical components have their own Ohm tolerances, check in the service manual if within them...

One side is a bit high (specs in original post) - the leads to the upper switch box are reading 650 ohms high. Wondering if that's within enough tolerance to safely ignore, or is there a risk of damaging another component.
