So pulled out my fuel rail for clean my injectors and found 1 injector missing pintel cap.
Looks like it has been missing for a while. Wondering if anyone has seen this?
I will scope cylinder and check but its probably long gone. The oring was in hole and it definitely was missing when it came out. any thoughts?

I will check with my borescope before i reassemble. If it's in there I will see it. But I bet it wasn't on when I pulled it just the o-ring

I like the buildup of material on the injector in question.

Makes me wonder the condition of the rest of the engine

I've seen it happen in the automotive field. They split and eventually fall off.

Next time remove the wire harness first , then the rail, then the injectors

Is the hole in the port large enough for the cap to pass into the intake manifold? I would suspect it would be.

Got injectors back flow tested fine, reinstalled on rail now to get the back in boat for test. Also ohmed out injectors to harness.

Agree, my thought is as you were wiggling the rail to remove it fell off before the rail came loose from the intake
