Look around, why would people drop 75 K on a new boat/ motor combo ?
If you kept it for years you would still own more than its worth. This high inflation raises initial costs and also reduces resale cost...it is a loose / loose situation!! The economy only looks good due to all our tax money being pumped into the economy.....but just wait until that bill comes due !!

pls keep non political.
boats and cars have always depreciated more quickly than they typically get paid off; nothing new there. It was imo the capacity build up.

The new products are very expensive , overly complicated.-----Difficult to service and repair compared to an older simpler technology.----Amazing how parts for these new motors ( all brands ) have been listed as NLA.

i've told my wife that if i'm lucky enough to outlive my folks and i get any inheritance my only splurge will be a 1970s or older truck, fully restored. Might do that anyway now seems like i'd save money over what we do now.

newest car we have is a 2014. I do like the back up camera for loading trailers and coming out of parking spaces if i wasn't able to back in - wide angle.

wifes is an 06 CDI and some parts are dealer only - just spent $1200 there last week (with horrible customer service to boot) on something they hope will fix it.
