Mercury Kicker/electric Motor

HI I AM PLANING ON Getting new boat my question which is best way to go for adding a trolling motor/ gas motor a kicker motor/ or a electric trolling motor ? its going to be on a 20ft alumaweld boat redwagon:D

hi i am in the pacific north west oregon i would be useing trolling motor when fishing does that help readwagon

Go with an 8HP 4 stroke engine w/the appropiate length leg.

Hey Redwagon,

I went through the same delima last year with my 18' Alumaweld. In short I decided on a T-8 Yamaha because it will run all day where an electric will start to die on you after 6 or so hours if you have any wind.

I plus for electrics are that they are pulling the boat from the front rather than pushing from one corner of the back, so the steering control is much better with the electric.
