Mercury break-in period???

I know this is a stupid question but I'm about to put my motor back together from changing a broken swivel bracket pin assembly and yoke. And I've consulted my SELOC manual and it mentions that when putting the powerhead back on that I'd have to undergo a 10 hour break in period where I SHOULD NOT go WOT but only for very brief periods until the 10 hour break in is complete.

The last point in the break in guide I believe answers my question, but I'd like to ask you guys just in case because this is the first time I'm doing all this! So the last point says to mix gas/oil at a 25:1 ratio which makes me think that makes sense if I did any motor work internally to the engine (crank/pistons/rings etc..) makes sense for lubrication purposes right? but since I didn't even touch the block (I only removed it to access the mid section swivel bracket) does this break in guide still pertain to me as well or not?

Motor is a 1978 Mercury 80hp 4 cyl, just gonna re-install powerhead on the mid, and all it has is new gaskets in the exhaust extension plate, and the powerhead...

Re: Mercury break-in period???

Break-in is only needed after re-build. Drive it like you stole it,
