Mercury 90HP vacuum lines?

I am hoping someone can answer this question for me. I am replacing all the rubber hoses on a 1989 mercury 90HP 3 cylinder and when I was doing this the plastic fittings turned slightly while putting on the new hoses on the induction manifold. They appear to have thread sealant on them but are plastic and weren't that tight. There were also no clamps on the hoses. I am wondering by disturbing them if I now need to disassemble and reseal with thread tape or some sort of sealant? If I do what is the best sealant to use and how do you get the fittings to stay in the correct orientation since they are plastic its not like you can put any pressure on them to get them tight without damaging them. Should I be replacing them with brass? Sorry if this is a dumb question but since its beyond the throttle plate I am worried it might lean the engine out if it draws air. I attached a picture so hopefully it is more clear.

I looked into the sealant and it appears to be a contact cement and sealant in one, sounds like it will work to keep the correct orientation of straight up and down and also seal the ports. My only concern here is if they ever need to be removed at a later time. Does anyone else have any input? I cannot find any other info on the innerwebs on what to seal these with or if they need to be completely sealed at all.

Try Perfect Seal (Mercury product can be used on propshafts etc.) or Permatex Aircraft type they are sealant types without cement.
