mercury 90hp suitability

Hi
I purchased a gaelio 485 last year with a honda 50 on it, unfortunately thine was stolen and I am now in the process of fitting a 90 hp mercury 2 stroke can anyone give me advice as to its suitabilty as regards to its strenght bearing in mind manufactues guide staes 90hp as its max capability

If the question is regarding the boat, if the mfr's maximum rating is 90HP, then you can safely install a 90HP on the boat and no more.

Now, it's certainly going to use a lot more fuel than your 4-stroke 50HP did but I imagine you've already figured that!!!

It should also run out quite a bit faster with the 90 on it, so watch out for hi-speed maneuvers until you get an idea of how the boat handles.
