I m working on a 9.9 two-stroke, 0G168478, that doesn't want to start. I've tracked the problem to downstream of the fuel pump. I have gas at the fuel pump inlet. If I disconnect the line and squeeze the primer bulb, fuel shoots out the hose.
I have rebuilt the fuel pump and carburetor. I have mixed new fuel. I have eliminated water in the fuel lines and fuel filter. What can be stopping the fuel from reaching the intake manifold? If I spray premix into the carb, it will run.
Additionally, can anyone tell me how to hook up the carburetor to ignition advance linkage wire? I have it snapped in at the carburetor, but cannot find where it goes under the flywheel.
Thanks,
J

Got an inline fuel filter between the fuel pump and carb?

Put the fuel line connector back on and disconnect the fuel line at the carb. Squeeze the bulb. If no fuel, go back to the outlet of the fuel pump. Squeeze again. If no fuel go to the inlet of the fuel pump. If you put the fuel pump valves in backwards you could be blowing when you should be sucking....i'd think....never put them in backwards. While you have the fuel line open between the fuel pump and carb inlet see if you can blow through it, or blow some low pressure compressed air.

Don't know about the wire. Steelspike may pickup on this thread. He probably knows what you are talking about......or give him a shout.

Where the wire goes depends on the throttle linkage you have if you have the long wire about 6-8" long. That wire goes to the timer base itself behind the main timer advance linkage there is a slot for it . If you have the short wire it goes to the carb.
