Can anyone tell me what the release mechanism is on the powerhead cover on this motor. I can't find a latch to release it. I have only owned Johnson and Evinrude. Help?
THE BACK OF THE ENGINE HAS A PIECE STICKING OUT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE COVER IT LOOKS KIND OF LIKE A HANDLE.LOOK UNDER IT .YOU SHOULD SEE IT AND THEN JUST PULL IT DOWN AND IT SHOULD COME OFF.
It's a tab like Woly bugger described. Push it, and presto. Capt black's Marine is a newer model,which has a lever in the same place, but you pull it down to release.
