Mercury 850 Thunderbolt Questions

Hello,

I have two Mercury Thunderbolt 850s-- the issue I am having is twofold. First, one of the remote controls and throttle/shift cables is damaged beyond repair and need to order new ones; however, I cannot find them online--I keep searching Mercury 850 throttle/shift cables. What do I need to search to order new ones? Also I cannot seem to find another remote control either. For the other engine, I have brand new throttle/shift cables but they are way to long, is it possible to shorten them, or do I need to just order new ones. The remote for this control seems to work okay.

Secondly, the steering cable is way too long as well. I am assuming its impossible to shorten those... what should I search to order a new one. I am stationed in Alaska so seeking advice from professional marinas is next to impossible.

The length of the control and steering cables cannot be changed. You will need to purchase new, shorter ones. The throttle and shift cables are standard, nd available at most marine stores. Also, I would think any Mercury OB control would work with that motor. The wiring would need to be grafted.
