I bought a '88 Mercury 80 hp yesterday.I ran the engine today for about 5 miles in a wake zone and when i opened up the throttle it ran for a minute at full speed, then bogged down and the engine cut off. I then started the engine bac up, it ran for about 20 seconds and then cut off. It has an oil injector. The guy said it had been sitting for three month and to premix my fuel and put oil in the tank. Maybe the injector doesnt work? i dont know. Can i block it and or whats wrong with my engine?it was on its side when i had picked it. I checked the carborator for oiland i didnt see any.
