mercury 80 what year plz

hi i have a mecury 80 and need to know the year to order some parts it has a blue band around the cover its a 4 cylinder power tilt n trim the only number i can find is on the arm that sits against the transom it a little silver plate with serial number 9335982 cant find any references on this number anywhere please help if you can thanks oh yes dont know if this helps but it auto oil mix

That serial number is likely Belgium, and my cross reference lists don't show that serial range. I'm confident that it is newer than 1980, but older than 1984. Not much help.<br /><br />Typically, when ordering parts for it your service counter should be able to use the serial number to find what you need.

hi thanks for trying it does say belgium on the plate shall i take a trip to belgium to find out lol
