I have a 2021 tracker with a 75 HP mercury on it, when I turn the key switch on it just turns over a few times then it beeps. Once it beeps, you have to turn the key switch off then turn it back on to turn it over again and it beeps again. It acts like it wants to start but it won't ever catch on. I can hear the fuel pump moving the fuel and everything. I can get the boat to start by putting it in neutral and then turning it over a few times until it catches on. Once the boat turns on it runs completely fine. I checked the oil under the cowl and it still looks brand new, the engine probably has only 20 hours on it.
I took the boat home and noticed the battery terminals had some corrosion already so I cleaned all terminals with a wire brush and cleaned the posts. It still turned over and beeped after 3 or so cranks but I still got it to run a lot easier. I thought this fixed the issue but its doing it again where I'm having a hard time starting it. The battery shows 13 volts and I took it to an Interstate reseller and they tested it and it tested out fine.
I did read somewhere that they go through a "start up check" when you turn the key on and that what I'm hearing after it turns over is that start up check again, almost as if it lost all power and then wanted to try to do the startup check again while I was in midcrank. Is that a possibility?
