Ahoy everyone,<br /><br /><br />I have a 24 ft. sailboat powered by a Mercury 7.5 outboard motor.<br /><br />It starts very easily. <br /><br />After warm-up if I turn the throttle wide open is still idling!? <br /> <br />Only if I "give it a pat on the back"(hit the motor cover with my palm) it picks up RPM!!!<br /><br /><br />What could be wrong?<br /><br /><br />Any ideas?<br /><br /><br />Thank you in anticipation for your answer.<br /><br />SEA WOLF

Never heard of the atta boy problem be for but it almost has to be a problem with the linkage, remove the bonnet and without the engine running advance the throttle and hopefully you can spot the problem--Bob
