Mercury 650

Hello,

I just purchased a boat and it has a Mercury 650 on it. It is a 65 hp motor and I have read all of the posts where to find the serial number but I cannot find it on this engine. Anyone have any idea what years these were made? It says ThunderBolt Ignition on the front of the cover.

1965- mid 1970s i own one runs great i also have parts lists and some repair info if needed

Thanks Sparky, I need to get a new prop, I imagine they are all the same for those years?

I have one as well on a little 14 foot Therm O glass and man it flies. Is it a three or four cylinder? See if we can narrow down the year a bit more.

I will have to check tomorrow, I have it all locked up in the garage and it is too tight to lower the mower. I will get back to you tomorrow.

I have mine on a 16 bass tracker and when I took it for a test drive, I was REALLY impressed.

I'm running a 3 blade 13 pitch and 13 inch on a 16 and a half foot aluminum boat runs good with it i tried a 13 pitch 14 inch 3 blade and the boat was slower.

What year is your motor Sparky?

1965 4cyl merc 650 the boat also is a 1965
