Mercury 650 65hp

1974 mercury 650 have a 65hp mercury was running fine at top speed lost all power and started noking really bad. Still starts and will run. Sounds like something loose. Did it break a piston!

Did you do a compression test? crystal ball is a little cloudy today...

im having trouble learning how & where to post a question, i dont think it goe's in reply but i dont know what else to do. i may as well toss in question too, 1975 merc, 65hp, outboards smoke but what doe;s it mean when the smoke is really eye burning? is mixture wrong. it runs good but will make you back away unlike other motors.
