Mercury 60hp Efi Bigfoot Stalling

I HAVE A BIGFOOT 2006 4 STROKE OUTBOARD EFI 60HP- WHEN IT STARTS EVERYTHING IS FINE- AFTER I ENGAGE REVERSE OR FORWARD AND THROTTLE UP -IT BEGINS TO SPUTTER THEN DIES OUT. SOMETIMES IT HARD TO RESTART. i HAVE BEEN STUCK RECENTLY BECAUSE EVERTIME i ENGAGE THE THROTTLE THE MOTOR DIES. i HAVE PLENTY OF OIL, CHANGED THE FUEL TANKS, NEW GAS, CHANGED THE BULB AND HOSES, - SOMEONE TOLD ME THIS MOTOR HAS 2 FUEL PUMPS? HELP? THANKS

Hi, did you manage to solve this problem? I am having the same issues with both my 60's and I'm hoping it's nothing serious.

Also check or replace your fuel filter . Your engine is a Electronic Fuel Injected engine. No carburators here i'll assume. I'll guess your motor has a electric fuel pump, but a high output mechanical pump may exist also. Will the motor rev up (short bursts) in nuetral? What color are the spark plug tips? Light brown grey is ok. Dark, wet or oily not to good.
Is the primer bulb going in the right direction (arrow towards the motor)?.....Tom

Hi, I have a 92 Mercury outboard 60 HP that does the same thing. It starts ok, then after it passes 2400 Rpms usulaay in 10-20 seconds in shuts off. today I had to go back to the pier really slow so it wouldnt do it anymore. The carbs have been cleaned 2 months ago and the plugs are new. Help Please. Thanks
