Mercury 50hp need to know year....

We recent was given a mercury 50hp boat motor and we need to know the model and year of this motor. Cannot find anything but the serial number #6587945. Can anyone help??<br /><br />Thanks, Deb

That 50hp is a 1985. When ordering Mercury parts you use the serial number not the year(in most cases).
