HI all...new to this forum. I have a merc 50hp 4 cylinder 1986 blueband. Hard starting if not at all every trip last year. Then one day it just not start at all. Replaced switchbox, trigger, solenoid...still not start. Then I am told stator is bad. Replaced and only sparking once on each cylinder. When turn key and hold engine cranks great and all 4 sparkplugs have a great big blue spark but only spark once even though key is held to on. Surely they should keep sparking until I release key. Can anyone advise please?....at my wits end and cant afford to buy any more parts.....my mate reckons the original bad stator had caused all these other parts to go and now we put new stator in he thinks the new trigger I bought has been blown by the old stator and wants me to get another....any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated...thanks
