I have a Mercury 40 1979 2 cyl 2 stroke serial No 8052332, I cart seem to find the timing marks on the fly wheel. there are 3 large dots close together and 1 on its own to the left I gather that the single dot is the 27 degree mark but not sure, Ive attached a photo hopefully you can make sence of it. there are no other marks on the fly wheel.
