I have a 2008 9.9 mercury big foot 4 stroke on a 17' aluminum boat. This is my second engine due to oil leaking and puddling in bottom of cowl under carb. I have had it to 3 different dealers, some say they cant find anything wrong, one said it was overfilled, they changed the oil , i have ran it several times since and it seems to be over filled now,but was just under max fill when changed?? I popped the spark plugs out tonight to check them, the tips were a little black but not bad(gonna replace anyway) but there was what appeared to be some oil where plug seats against the block. Some one said check forum entitled "making oil", im headed there now any help would be great thanks!!!!
