Seems I’ve lost 2 EFI ECU’s.
Both engines seem to run great on original ECU’s till about half throttle, then when pushing to WOT, both engines stumble and reduce rpm significantly. My buddy had a spare ECU from another 250, but the part number is slightly different. I figured it was worth a shot and put the spare ecm on one of the engines, and it Ran Grrrreat!! I pulled it off that motor and put it on the other and it also ran great! Somehow both original ECU’s seem to have failed in the same way, which I find strange. But there’s no denying how well they ran on the spare unit.
My question is if there is something different enough about the two ECU’s that I should be concerned about?
The engines are 2001 2 stroke XL (I think xl...) Saltwater series.
The original (bad) ECU’s are part number: 830046 1
The spare (good) ECU is part number 830046 13
Is it safe to run the ...13 series ECU in place of the ...1 ECU?
Ive got a line on another ...13 series ECU for 200 bucks.
Thanks!!
